Dear Ruth and the ladies of the Women’s Ministries of the Church of the Lutheran Brethren,
Thank you so much for your generous contribution of $4,000.00 (Four thousand dollars), check #1003, dated April 21st, 2016 sent by Barbara Heggland. We understand and have given the funds directly to the Maternity Project at Hopital de Guinebor II in Ndjamena, Chad for the purchase of fetal monitoring equipment in the new maternity unit. We are so very grateful for your help in the Lord’s work at the Hopital de Guinebor II that we are helping with. Over 200 babies are being safely delivered each month currently and the heart monitoring equipment that you have provided helps to ensure that this continues to happen.
The hospital is growing in terms of cleanliness, security, reputation, and services. Many life-saving surgical cases are being performed, including c-sections. Malnutrition is being treated and education on nutrition is ongoing. Immunizations are administered and diseases treated. And God’s name is going forth. A new operating room, a patient ward for women and new central supply room are among the projects currently underway. Baby blankets that were lovingly made by the LB women across the country are given to the new mommies for their newborn babies. The hospital-sponsored school (Nour ala Nour/Light on Light) is flourishing while teaching the Word with 670 students enrolled from the surrounding villages.
We and many others are encouraged by your prayers, baby blankets and financial gifts. Hundreds of poor people will benefit from your generosity. On week days, the sick and their families begin lining up to be seen at 4 AM and wait most of the day to be seen. The harvest is plentiful but still the workers are few.
God’s richest blessings be to the generous and thoughtful ladies who have helped to bless and encourage the ongoing work at Hopital de Guinebor II.
With our appreciation and gratitude,
Trisch and Noel

An additional note from Ruth Vallevik, Director of WMCLB: Let me add my personal thanks to all of you who have lovingly made and contributed blankets and clothing to the hospital. Unfortunately, because of a lack of storage and of an affordable means of shipping to Chad, we are having to suspend this program. We encourage you to check out local non-profits (such a pro-life Crisis Pregnancy Centers or hospitals) where these items will be greatly appreciated. Please continue to pray for the safety and ministry of this wonderful mission hospital.
