WMCLB PROJECTS AT A GLANCE

2007 -2008 Projects

NAM (North American Missions): Project funds will be divided in two ways
$3,000 to fund assessments and leadership training for potential church developers.
$1,700 to fund 2007 Youth Convention Seminars for issues relevant to our youth. The convention will be held Estes Park, Colorado in August, 2007.

Training Mission (Seminary): Project funds will be divided in three ways.
$3,000 to fund Seminary Scholarships for women, especially those pursuing careers in missions.
$1,000 to fund a portion of the Seminary Women’s Retreat (SWEET) in the fall of 2007.
$700 to fund child care for the children of women enrolled or auditing classes in Seminary.

International Mission (World Missions):
$4,700
to fund Kathy Wile’s ongoing and vital ministry to missionary women in Africa and Asia. Beginning this year, 2007, Kathy and John will be going to our Africa field twice each year since the African missionaries are much more isolated.

Hillcrest Lutheran Academy:
$1,000
to implement a devotional series by Bob Tissot called Purity and Holiness. This would include curriculum and training for the girl’s dorm staff and provide a book for each girl in the dorm.

NWMT Special Project:
$5,000
to fund the completion of the first year of Leadership Training Conferences in each district and to develop and implement a second year of district workshops. We believe that raising up and training new leaders, as well as equipping existing leaders is essential to our vision for a renewal of women's ministries in the CLB.

2006-2007

WMCLB PROJECTS AT A GLANCE

2006-2007

HOME MISSIONS

$3500 to provide potential church planting couples with assessments. These assessments provide tools to help them assess the challenges they will face in a church planting setting, gain an understanding of their role on a church planting team, and help us to walk alongside them with training and coaching

YOUTH MINISTRIES

$3500 for continued support of Liz Barton during her first year of full-time salary and benefits. This support will continue to encourage Liz and make the continuation of her work possible within the CLB. Liz serves as a program coordinator for Youth Convention and an instructor for Servant Teams. She also helps coordinate the overall LBYM work in the office.

WORLD MISSIONS

$3500 to provide our pastoral care for our Missionaries in Africa. Our pastoral care team, John and Kathy Wile, will visit our missionaries in Africa this summer as a part of our pastoral care ministry. This support will help fund Kathy’s on-going ministry, including the trip to interact face to face with these women serving the church in Africa. Pastoral care is a crucial part of supporting our staff as they labor in a cross-cultural setting.

LUTHERAN BRETHREN SCHOOLS

$3500 to fund grants for women preparing for ministry in the CLB. Two women will enroll in the seminary programs with this ministry goal in mind. Our hope is that more women will be called by God to ministry and that we will have an opportunity to equip them.

HILLCREST LUTHERAN ACADEMY

$1000 will be given towards a new computer in the girls’ dorm. The students use computers for research on the internet and also other “homework” needs. We will continue to support Hillcrest with the Campbell Labels and Box-Top projects.

NWMT (National Women's Ministry Team) PROJECT

$5000 will provide NWMT Leadership Training Conferences to be carried out under the management of the Leadership Training Task Force. This task force needs funds for curriculum development, materials for the conferences, and transportation.
