WMCLB Constitution

 

ARTICLE I. NAME

The name of the organization shall be the Women’s Ministries of the Church of the Lutheran Brethren (WMCLB).

 

ARTICLE II. PURPOSE

The purpose of this organization shall be:

·        To call women to a living faith in Christ.

·        To encourage, equip and edify all women of the Church of the Lutheran Brethren for ministry, service and fellowship on the local, district, national and international levels.

·        To provide mission support for the ministries of the Church of the Lutheran Brethren.

 

ARTICLE III. MEMBERSHIP

Any woman who regularly attends a Lutheran Brethren Church or a church affiliated with the Church of the Lutheran Brethren is considered a member of the Women’s Ministries of the Church of the Lutheran Brethren. Only a woman who is a member of a Lutheran Brethren Church or a church affiliated with the Church of the Lutheran Brethren is entitled to a vote at the annual convention.

 

ARTICLE IV. ANNUAL CONVENTION

The convention of the Women’s Ministries of the Church of the Lutheran Brethren shall be held annually.

 

ARTICLE V. OFFICERS

Officers of the Women’s Ministries of the Church of the Lutheran Brethren shall be: Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. These officers shall be elected for a three-year term with one position being voted on per year in a rotating order. All officers shall be elected by ballot, and a simple majority shall constitute election. Only professing Christians who are members of a Lutheran Brethren Church may be elected to a national office.

 

ARTICLE VI. WMCLB MINISTRY TEAM

The National Women’s Ministry Team of the Women’s Ministries of the Church of the Lutheran Brethren shall consist of the three elected officers, the current Women’s Ministries of the Church of the Lutheran Brethren District Presidents, and the Director of Women’s Ministries.

 

ARTICLE VII. AMENDMENTS

This constitution or its bylaws may be altered or amended at the annual convention of the Women’s Ministries of the Church of the Lutheran Brethren by a two-thirds vote, provided the proposed change or amendments have been presented at the previous convention. The bylaws also may be changed if submitted to and approved by the National Women’s Ministry team who will have published the proposed changes in the Church of the Lutheran Brethren synodical publication in two issues preceding the annual WMCLB convention.

 

ARTICLE VIII. PARLIAMENTARY AUTHORITY

The most recent edition of Robert’s Rules of Order shall govern all proceedings of this organization where this Constitution and by-laws are silent.
